So sad...

I am sad. My home town is Belogradchik and it is a small beautifull place in Northwestern Bulgaria. When I lived there I had lots of places for birdwatching and ringing. I was happy ! But now I study in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. And here I'm far from the nature and this makes me sad. But right now thing are worse. I have to study for my exams and I don't even have time to go in Belogradchik. So I envy all people that manage to find time for their hobbyes :) But I won't give up !

Turdus Philomelos nest and some ringing

I found my first nest for the year.It was in a oak tree, 1.5m above the ground.



I ringed only 2 birds. A male Blackbird and a male Blackcap.

My first bullfinch

Yesterday I went to my village and managed to find some time for ringing. I caught some Great Tits and one Nuthatch with my trap. I also caught my first Bullfinch. It was a beautiful and healthy male.

The first ringing for the year

I went to my village today. The weather was perfect so I decided to set up the net and the trap . Total only 6(2) birds: Great Tit 2(1), L.T. Tit 1, Blue Tit 2, Sombre Tit 1(1).

In the end

My last birds for the year were one Great tit and a male Hawfinch. Not much but its enough :)

Lanius Collurio nest

I went fishing in one of the lakes near Belogradchik and near the road I found this nest.There are 5 or 6 eggs in it. Sorry for the bad photos :S

A problem

My results for today are 25(2) Great tits.A also manage to catch one other tit, but I didn't recognize it. The tit was a Marsh tit or a Willow tit. Can someone tell me how is the best way to differ them ?
